Curbside Decadence at Thoroughfare

Yarmouth was my home for many years, and one of my favorite new(ish) reasons to go back is to pick up some savory indulgence from Thoroughfare.

It’s a curbside-only concept designed by chef Christian Hayes to keep his staff employed and to satisfy his customers’ appetites while minding pandemic precautions and regulations. As chef at The Garrison, Hayes had to make the tough call of closing the popular restaurant to dine-in customers at the beginning of the COVID ordeal, but he knew there was opportunity to adapt and thrive with a pivot to carryout cuisine. Launching a new Main Street venue was a risk, but he decided it was one worth taking, and the gamble has paid off for his staff and for diners like me who make the drive over for his feel-good food. Thoroughfare’s menu is an upscale interpretation of fast-food classics like burgers and milkshakes — simply delicious.
