You probably know by now that I love taking advantage of local trails and shoreline paths. The other day, my husband and I took the dogs for a stroll at Ferry Beach in Saco. It was amazing! The setting is so beautiful, even while it’s cold out.'
Named after its historic use as a ferry crossing for early travelers, this quiet little state park has a trail network that passes through woods and over ocean-front sand. If you can believe it, we saw kite surfers while we were walking along the beach! I’m adding that to my list of aspirational activities to try once the weather warms up. Kudos to the intrepid January surfers! For the rest of us, the trails are a fun way to enjoy the beauty of the coast and, when the conditions are right, the park is perfect for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
There are so many incredible options to enjoy our nearby nature in every season. Let me know if you need recommendations for hiking, biking, or casually strolling.
