Hiking Trails and Healthy Harvest

What better time to contemplate what’s on the table than the month of Thanksgiving? Wolf’s Neck Center in Freeport is mission-driven to transform our relationship with farming and food for a healthier planet, improving both what we put on the plate and how we harvest it from our environment. On 600 acres just a few miles outside of downtown Freeport, Wolf’s Neck Center is a unique hub of research and recreation that offers a direct connection to the way we source food and how it affects our own health and our natural resources.
One of my favorite things about Wolf’s Neck is the opportunity to work off the holiday helpings and connect with the coastal environment on more than three scenic miles of hiking trails that are open to the public year-round. The trails wind through both forested landscape and shoreline habitats, so hikers enjoy an up-close view of our area’s diverse natural beauty. Wolf’s Neck is also a draw for bikers, campers, and kayakers, or just about anyone who enjoys outdoor activities in any season.
Find time to visit Freeport for the best of Maine’s bounty and beauty. It’s all on the menu at Wolf’s Neck.
