Farm Camp at Wolfe’s Neck Farm

The first time I wrote about Wolfe’s Neck Farm was just before Thanksgiving last year. It’s a bountiful 625-acre tract just outside of downtown Freeport that focuses on sustainable agriculture and the environment. One of the coolest things that Wolfe’s Neck offers is Farm Camp, where kids get hands-on with learning by taking care of gardens and livestock, and by exploring the ecosystems of the coast, forest, and farmland. This is such a cool way to give kids a taste of nature (literally!) and to teach the importance of environmental stewardship.

The camps are tailored to kids ages 4 through 13 and run through late August. Teens have the opportunity to serve as junior counselors, combining outdoor lessons with leadership skills and community engagement.
