Whether or not you’re a donut lover, you’ll find something to love at Eighty8 Donuts.
Since 2013, this whimsical operation has been doling out bite-sized donuts and pastries from a food truck and a catering kitchen in downtown Portland. The popularity of Eighty8 Donuts even helped launch a brick-and-mortar location at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, open seven days a week for ski season. Both the Sugarloaf café and food truck – often found at local breweries and the Eastern Prom - boast a creative selection that’s almost as much fun to read on the menu as to taste. There are classics like Cinnamon Sugar, Maine Maple, and Chocolate Glaze, and then there are specialties… the maple-dipped, bourbon cream and candied bacon ‘007’ and the lavender, lemon curd, and Nilla crumble-topped ‘Ol’ Blue Eyes’ are attention grabbers. A few weeks ago, I brought my nieces to Eighty8 and they were especially excited to indulge in the Boston Creams!
