Higgins Beach

This place is, hands down, one of my favorite places on the planet. The salt air, the sand, the views — it’s magical. We take our dogs here at least once a week despite biting winds in the winter or scorching days in the summer. The dog rules vary (check them out here), but on warm summer weekends you’ll find at least 50 pups with their owners romping around and splashing in the waves. Check the tides too. Low tides mean a lot more room to roam!

This is also a great spot for surfing. My daughter and husband both love to surf and Higgins is the place to be at any time of the year (although I can’t imagine how they manage to surf in the winter!).

Planning ahead is your best bet for enjoying Higgins Beach unless you’re already lucky enough to be within walking distance. For more information on where to find parking and plan your visit, click here.
