Pandemic Positivity

What a month it has been. I know we’re all hunkering down and anxious for life to be back to normal, albeit a new normal.

While we’re all navigating that new normal, real estate is still happening. Our inventory in Cumberland County is down about 40%, but the buyers who have yet to find a home are still anxious to buy. At this point, our focus as agents is to pivot from our norm of face-to-face to helping our clients using creative approaches.  Ultimately, learning and using these different techniques will be highly beneficial as a lot of our work will be done virtually from here on out. The good news? Sotheby’s gives us a state of the art platform in which to do that. We’ve got the ability to create Matterport tours which allow for 3D viewing of any property and that’s just the beginning. As an agent, I’m working on my digital platforms and plan to use them in all my listings from now on.

A positive real life story — after listing a fabulous property in Yarmouth on 7 pastoral acres, I was able to connect an agent in my office and her buyers with this spectacular opportunity. The agent Facetimed her buyers from the property and an offer was immediately made from thousands of miles away. These buyers will never step foot on the property before they close, however, they are thrilled and exited after seeing it “virtually.” We may not be ready for this new normal but it can be done and it can be done effectively.

Despite the challenges of this time, there are ways to find ‘pandemic positivity.’ Check out a few of these resources and invest some extra time in finding your own silver lining.
