I’m a sucker for a gorgeous coffee table book… who isn’t?!
The Maine House is a fabulous new publication showcasing beautiful images of Maine captured by award-winning photographer Maura McEvoy. There are more than three dozen homes featured from regions throughout the state and each one tells a visual story of Maine’s distinctive character. My favorite is ‘A House on a Wharf,’ a classic cedar shake in the Fox Islands that’s belonged to the same family since the 1940s and been a continual destination of theirs for more than 130 years.
This book is a treasure for native Mainers (like me!) who love basking in the beauty of our environment and history. It’s also a great gift for anyone who appreciates Maine culture and the unique storytelling ability of pictures.
