Welcome to Freeport

There’s a world of beauty and serenity beyond the plethora of outlet stores and LLBean’s flagship stores along the bustling main part of town.

Wolfe’s Neck State Park is justifiably famous for its 244 acres on a narrow peninsula that runs between Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River. The park contains varied ecosystems with various trails featuring interpretive panels - and nesting ospreys at the right season. The non-profit Wolfe’s Neck Center sits on 600 acres of preserved coastal landscape. Wolfe’s Neck Center encompasses a demonstration farm, oceanfront campground, wooded trails, and historic buildings. This vibrant campus serves as a unique hub for education and exploration.

Freeport’s famed Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster Company has been in business for fifty years, run by a family striving for a small-town family atmosphere, and with an operating fishing business. It’s a destination for both tourists and Mainers alike, having been featured in various media, including television shows. Outside of the main part of town, you’ll find friendly neighborhoods, with “helpful and chatty” residents, “restaurants nothing short of amazing”, as well, of course, the spectacular Maine coast with unrivaled accessibility in the confines of Cumberland County. Freeport boasts an excellent school system with consistently high rankings.
